Bio
Diana Monova is an artist working in animation, XR, art games and playful media.
She began her career working on various animation projects, such as “Quentin Blake’s Box of Treasures” and “Where’s Anne Frank”. She took on roles in the 2D animation and design departments.
In the meantime, possibly as an allergic reaction to adult life, she developed a keen interest in all things playful. She started play-pretend again, or as adults call it - live-action role-playing (LARP-ing). As an artist she found it particularly stimulating how LARPs blur the boundaries between creators and audience.
These different interests and skills led her to work in games as an artist, game designer and curator. At the moment most of her energy is channeled towards one of her personal projects - Bear. An art game which combines an interesting physical puzzle that you can touch with your fingers with yummy digital storytelling with sound and music and animation. All this through the medium of mobile augmented reality. Wish her luck.
Diana is originally from Bulgaria, currently based in Brussels.
